One of our concerns is when people to purchase cheap low quality Heat Pumps from unknown providers. Just be careful because as much as they look good, shiny and new, we’d hate for you to be paying more for us to fix it later down the track! In almost all of these cases we have not been able to locate the dealers/importers, which means no backup service or spares.
We choose to provide the Fujitsu and Hitachi brands because of the great back up service (which we haven’t required yet) but also their 6 years warranty for piece of mind.
Are you fogging up your kitchen windows or getting a lot of residue above your stove when you’re cooking? Maybe you’re finding a lot of condensation build-up on your walls and ceilings after every shower? We can fix this for you! Read More
We do our best to provide you with the right product to give you the outcome that you desire. I’ve recently been asked to submit a quote for a heat pump that I knew wasn’t the right fix for the problem that they were experiencing. This was after a competitor had already talked them into a heat pump unit to help with mould build up in the bedrooms. The correct product to fix their problem was a balanced ventilation system, and this would have also moved the warm air from the fireplace around the home, as well as clear up their mould situation. It is important for us to provide the best options for our customers every time.
If you froze last winter, or you are in shock when you get your power bill, it could be a time to look at a heat pump for your heating. Heat pumps are the most energy efficient* and convenient way to heat your home. In fact, a correctly sized and professionally installed heat pump can produce up to 4 times more heat for each unit of electricity compared to conventional heaters, making it easier, cheaper and more environmentally friendly to heat your home. They can also be used to cool and dehumidify your home in the summer months.
But it is important to know that some brands and some heat pumps are significantly more efficient than others, and also that it is crucial you use a professional installer, to will ensure that you have the correctly sized model, positioned and installed to achieve maximum performance for your home.
So here are 5 important steps to take to ensure that you will be choosing the very best for you:
1. Choose the type of heat pump for your needs
Start by seeing what types of heat pumps are available. There are different styles hi-walls, floor models, ceiling cassettes and whole home central heating systems. Many have different features too – such as self-cleaning filters, healthy air filters, temperature sensor controls – so you will want to look through, and then decide which appeals to you. There is a guide at the end of this page which shows the different models available, and the advantages and features of each.
2. Decide which area of your home you want heated
Again, there are single room or area heat pumps (most commonly used), or multi-systems that can heat several rooms at a time, the Sleep Pump® that will heat or cool 3 or 4 bedrooms, or whole home ducted central heating systems.
If you want to heat a large area or areas, you need an efficient heater with lower running costs, so it may make sense to pay more for the model and its installation needed, because it will pay off in the long term
3. Make sure you will get the Right Size heater
This is probably the single most important step. If the heat pump is too small for the area, it may be a little cheaper to buy in the short term, but it will cost so much more to run as it will be working too hard. It will also defrost too often.
If you buy a model too big for your needs, then you will be paying too much for inefficient use. An Accredited Consultant will assist you in determining the correct size for your needs.
4. Choose an Accredited Heat Pump Consultant
The next step is to obtain advice and quotes – but please make sure you use an Accredited Consultant – these are independent professionals that have been accredited by us, because they have demonstrated they have the equipment, training and expertise, to install your new heat pump as required by the manufacturer, and using sound practices.
To encourage you to choose an Accredited Consultant we at Fujitsu will give a 6-year full parts and labour warranty on our heat pumps – that’s New Zealand’s longest warranty.
5. Ask about our Comfort Selector™
When your Accredited Consultant uses the Comfort Selector, you will get much more than a quote. You will get a 2nd Guarantee – the guarantee that your heat pump will perform exactly how it says it will – at the temperature shown. Plus you will also get a full report which has been tailored to your home – showing:
